It has been a pretty relaxed weekend I would have to admit. One thing I love doing is purposefully leaving the weekend – or a major chunk of it – free.

Saturday we spent the morning at home and pottering around our local village. We also managed to get ourselves organised for the week ahead and did a grocery shop so that the fridge was restocked for a new week. In the afternoon we were blessed with beautifully warm sunshine and so sat in our garden with a cup of coffee before having a surprise visit from my best friends/family. Thus, we decided it was only right to sit in a sun-soaked beer garden and have a good ol’ chin wag. Plus, because Olivia is quite the pro at Uno, we had a couple of games whilst catching up. Following on from that, the three of us ventured to our local seaside town and played various games in the arcade. Plus, we watched The Vow with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum – a real tearjerker and quite reminiscent of The Notebook but organically beautiful in its own way.

Sunday rolled on around with Olivia and myself heading to Sunday Mass with my brother and father. We then had a lovely afternoon at my dad’s house playing various games and catching up. It wasn’t too long before we had to head home to start making our bœuf bourguignon dinner, followed by a banana and pecan loaf. Olivia is back at pre-school this week and we also find out which primary school she will be enrolled at from September which is an amalgamation of excitement, anticipation and nostalgia at how fast these pre-school years have gone by.
I truly hope that your week is filled with laughter, joy and moments of quiet.
With love,
Katherine x
