This weekend was a momentous one for our little family of three as we finally discovered the gender of our soon-to-be new arrival in July.

On Saturday we were surrounded by close family and friends to pop the balloon as we did five years ago for when we had our gender reveal for Olivia. Personally, I love having gender reveals as it’s so special to be able to find out with those closest to you. Plus, I do love having a reason to celebrate and put on a bit of a ‘do’. With that being said, there unfortunately are not as many photographs as I would have otherwise wanted. Something that I find sacred is to be present in the moment and so the photographs from the party are limited in numbers as I was too involved in the socialising and having a fabulous time.

Sunday, however, was a totally different type of day as I woke up feeling extremely under the weather and very much pregnant. I was lethargic, achy and just not my usual self. I decided to stay cosy in my pyjamas whilst Olivia opted for to dress up as Jessie from Toy Story for the most part of the morning. After we had some lunch, we both decided that it was time for a nap. Something I love to do is nap and Olivia has always been a great sleeper so when Sunday rolls round we know a nap is more than likely on the cards. After a 2+ hour nap, we woke up feeling refreshed and galavanted off on the scooter to the park and the canal to feed the geese, ducks and solitary swan. We were blessed with beautifully radiant Spring sunshine and the greenery bathed in the dappled light of golden hour. We had a lovely walk and felt so much better for the fresh air. To close the night off we had homemade chilli con carne followed by slices of leftover Victoria Sponge cake from the party.
Hoping your weekend is filled with sunshine and that you take the time to listen to the rhythm of your body.
With love,
Katherine x
