Currently Pondering

Slow Living

If you’re reading this blog article, I just want to start off by saying I appreciate you taking the sacred time out of your day to read my words. All too often, in this fast-paced world, I forget to take a moment to appreciate what is happening right now. So, right now, my current pondering…

Weekend Captures #5

Captures

Amongst the anticipation of edging closer to our moving in date, the weekend provided much needed time for us to ensure that we were meeting our DIY to do list. This weekends captures are home/interior orientated and, in all honesty, my content probably will lean in more towards that ‘genre’ (if you will) as we…

Homemaking

Faith + Interiors

This one word covers a plethora of definitions, nuances and mental images that spring to mind. When I envision homemaking, I envision a tidy, decluttered and calm home. I see a space that is welcoming and exudes a personality which is an accumulation of all of the people/animals who live there: big or small. As…

Weekend Captures #4

Captures

It’s been a week since I last posted anything and, in all honesty, it’s been strange not being present on here. I ended April with quite a lot of things going on and so last week I felt like I was constantly playing catch up with myself. When I wasn’t preoccupied with personal matters, I…

The Blank Canvas

Creativity

There is a culmination of many emotions when confronted with a blank canvas or blank page (digitally or physically). Starting something new, even as a hobby is difficult. Mustering up the courage to commit to your creative intuition and allow that creativity to flow is sometimes the hardest part. If, like me, you feel instantly…

An Authentic Aesthetic

Slow Living

Throughout my twenties, I have been active on social media, most predominantly Instagram. The initial pull of showcasing snippets of my life and seeing likeminded people share their’s has stayed with me. However, I have increasingly become aware of how, as many people have previously pondered, Instagram has changed over the course of the years…

Weekend Captures #3

Captures

This weekend was spent at home, working on our cottage’s kitchen cupboards in anticipation of moving in next month! In a slightly different style this week, and to avoid repeating myself, both Saturday and Sunday were spent at home, dying the wood of our kitchen cupboards an American Walnut colour by Colron. We wanted the…

Embracing Mother Nature

Slow Living

For many reasons I am excited to share this blog post with you, but I thought it was only apt considering that it is Earth Week. Today I wanted to delve deeper in the connection we as humans have with nature and the healing effects of soaking up the great outdoors. I also wanted to…

Slow Motherhood: Paying Attention

Family + Slow Living

The significance of paying attention to the present moment is a message I have been receiving a lot recently. This can take on many forms: your mindset, ability to show gratitude to God, the choice of language and how you respond to others. Over the course of being a mother thus far, I have been…

Weekend Captures #2

Captures

It has been a pretty relaxed weekend I would have to admit. One thing I love doing is purposefully leaving the weekend – or a major chunk of it – free. Saturday we spent the morning at home and pottering around our local village. We also managed to get ourselves organised for the week ahead…

The way light hits the oak herringbone flooring 🤎 So much to catch you up on as this weekend we have officially moved into our cottage. Excited for the week ahead as we continue to intentionally add furnishings to our new home. Have a very happy week x
To switch things up a little bit I thought I’d share a snapshot of our furry family member: Harry. He’s been a part of our family for 9 years going on 10 soon enough! He was a rescue dog who was quite badly neglected when we got him. He’s a Welsh Terrier and is more like a cat than a dog. He is 12 and a half years old and has only recently lost his hearing. Still, he loves all the same things, he just can’t hear you when you’re calling for him! Hoping your Monday is going well 🙃
A little before & after! Swipe for the before snap from January 2021.
Doors being fitted, floor protection being lifted and the hoover is out: it really feels like we’re close to moving in! These doors were from eBay and we are so happy with the character and history to them.
Being ever so slightly greedy sharing two posts in one day but, hey, why not!? This will be Olivia and our baby girl’s bathroom. I’m sure there will be many a happy bath times in here 🤍 🛁
Morning light streaming through the nearly cleaned windows is so beautiful. This is the study and I love how @moenjoineryltd has made floating shelves out of the original staircase. I am already envisioning writing my blog posts in here and doing oil paintings on my easel. I am posting a lot about the cottage at the moment because we are planning to move in in the next two weeks and so it is all I am really thinking about. Let me know if you’re enjoying this interior/renovation content and would like to see more!
